Hi
my other half worked at Flinders private for a short while. The main differences for him were the nursing structure on the wards (RNs, ENs and PCAs) and the medication (they use trade names for drugs not generic so eg paracetamol will be written on the cards under several different names - he's found this quite difficult and feels like he has to learn his drugs all over again). He says that some things seem better and more advanced than the Uk whilst other things seem ancient and out of date. I guess you just have to accept that its probably not better or worse, just different. Have you got your accomodation sorted yet? When we came in Oct we booked into a holiday rental for a month. It can take quite a while to organise a permanent rental as their system is very different from the UKs. Hope the next month isn't too stressful!!
