Re: march ANMC skills assessments?
Hi Everyone,
I've not posted for a while, loads of reasons all to boring to go into!
Congrats to everyone who have their 'letter'. Mine came a day after the ANMC sent me a renewal form as they thought it was lost in the post. So don't worry Magic, it will come. In fact I think of the top of my head it took 16 weeks in total with all the messing with having to send another ref form! So I am now on with the 136 visa. Another headache..worst bit is gathering evidence together that Liam and I have been together for ten years (we are not married) Having to ask family and friends to write a letter of evidence and dig old photo's out! Hope to send off at the end of this month.

Hi Helen, welcome aboard we are all in the same boat the waiting is the worst part isnt it, I feel Ive become addicted to the laptop at the moment sad isnt it! I think you have covered it I only put down siblings didnt go any further I hope this is all you need. Where are you hoping to settle and what field of nursing do you specialise if you dont mind me asking. Regards Trudi

Re: march ANMC skills assessments?
Hi
i'm RGN worked in medical assessment, managed nursing homes, worked on rehabilitation wards and for the last 6 years have co ordinated NVQs across 2 PCTs and if possible would love to go to OZ to still do some teaching don't know if the VET (Oz version of NVQ) is used within the hospital setting for care staff otherwise I will just do nursing rather than a combination of the 2.
The emigration is so exciting but so slow which is the hardest part to cope with we hope to move to Adeleaide as we were told it is very family orientated with 4 kids this is a must but that it is still busy enough as the kids get older.
We were going to front load the visa application with pc but then I was informed by Scott Oster that they are only valid for a year and that year still needs to be until you leave the UK, we had our pc done Nov 06 but he said that it will probably this time next year by the time we get approval and are ready to move so ours will be out of date and we will have to pay for them to be done again, we were going to wait until they ask for them but then there is a long wait prehaps we will wait until July and then ask for them??
What do you think

Hi Trudi
do you have to apply for QNC before you go out to OZ or can i do it when i get there, we were advised initially to get skills assessment done and then once we receive the letter of confirmation send it with the 136 visa application they didn't say that I need to apply to qnc early on in the process as not needed until you know for definite which area you are going to as you have to apply to that area, we are going to go to Adelaide and if like it stay if not then move on (that is why going for ind 136 visa).

Hi I think it will depend upon how quick you want to start working in australia whether you apply or not before or after you arrive bearing in mind its taking about 10-12 weeks at the moment in some cases.

Re: march ANMC skills assessments?
thank you Ade s and trudi for your advice I will probably apply in August 07 as we were told realistically we wont be out in Oz until this time next year due to time for visas etc to be agreed. No doubt time will soon fly and then it will be mad panic to get sorted tomove over.
