Getting a job in Sydney
Hi everyone!
Im new to this part of the forum but have been browsing around for a while!
I am living in Sydney (Frenchs forest),we have been here for 4 weeks,im here with my husband on a permanent residence visa, one of the perks of being a nurse
Just to let you all know who are heading this way, it has been incredibly easy to get a job! I didnt sort anything out from the uk, I just walked into my local hospital and asked for a job in my specific area ( theatre recovery), I wanted regular casual (so i can get time off easily, for all the holidays im going to take ).The interview was a breeze, if you can call it an interview, more thanking me for considering them, very informal! I start on tuesday,as much work as I want, and it seems a very friendly unit, time will tell though
Last time I was here 4 years ago i did agency work which was also good as I ended up in the same place, again no problem finding work.
I don't know if finding work is a concern or if im stating the obvious, but I hope this description of my experience puts some peoples mind at rest!
hope this helps, and good luck to all of you who are still waiting( took 3 months for me, and they lost part of my medicals!)
Fiona

Re: Getting a job in Sydney
Hi Fiona ! Thanks for that . My husband and I are both nurses and move out to Sydney in 2 weeks !!!! :scared:
We both have jobs and like you I am going to work on a casual contract but because of the kids.
However , it's reassuring to know that other jobs are a-plenty ,just in case !
Let me know how you get on , on your first day. We have NEVER been in Australia so evrything is TOTALLY new , so love hearing about everyone elses experience.
Speak soon ,
Tass.
