Smile Can anyone help!?!

Dear All,
was wondering if anyone has experience of contacting hospitals directly and getting them to sponsor them directly for a visa. If so, what visa did they help arrange? Was it a subclass 121/856 or 119/857 or 137??

I am 5 points short of a subclass 136 and looking at all the other options.
I am a dual qualified nurse Learning disabilities (which unfortunately is not on the MODL list) and a Paediatric Nurse (direct entry/project 2000).

However i am finding it incredably difficuilt to find out if i can apply to the ANMC for the Registered Nurse code 2323-11. I ask the ANMC if there was a sperate code for paediatrics, but was told there was not. However they still have not answered if i can apply under the 2323-11 Registered Nurse code if i gain registration as a paediatric nurse with the Nursing Board of Victoria. The NBV has said that i can apply to them for registration but i don't see the point if i cannot apply to the ANMC for a modified skills assessment under the 2323-11 as this is in the MODL list and therefore will give me enough points to apply for a PR independant visa.

One other issue that i do not understand is the Assurance of Support that you have to have.I have read up on it on the Centrelink and they say it must be an Australian Citizen that provides this.As i would (if everything works out) get a PR visa. I would not Know anyone in Australia at that time. I am sure (or maybe i am wrong) that other people must have gone out on this type of visa without Knowing anyone, so how did they solve this problem?

Any help or suggestions would be great as i am running out of ideas on where to find the answers.

Regards to all,

Nirrade

nurseles is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: Can anyone help!?!

You could try applying for a state nominated visa and go to somewhere like Tasmania or other places that do that visa.

Hi!

Try a recruitment agency. I cannot recommend Heathstaff Recruitment enough, they have a website too. They interviewed me via telephone then set about sending my CV to hospitals in the areas I was interested in. I got offered a couple of posts, both on 457 temp visa's. I accepted a post subject to ENS for PR. The agency liased on my behalf and low and behold they sponsored me for PR.

Apply now to registration board in state you are interested in - you will need NMC verification for this - while you wait and see what job offers roll in (Info on this on state nurses board websites).

You will be tied for 3 years, but as long as you start highly unlikely you'll lose your visa should you want to leave post. Some info on this recently, try a search on BE.

I am a year in to my job and just about to go on mat leave, returning pt only, 2 days per week, even though sponsored for ft, no probs.

I found this a quick, (6 months from job offers to landing) way of getting here, slowed by reg boards and visa app, and pretty smoothe.

Good luck whatever route you decide to go,

Jo x

Hi. I am paediatric trained. Did my training Feb 2000- 2003. Not project 2000, but I would not of thought it would be a problem, with you being p2000 trained. There was no problem over my application, Best Wishes, jackie

Hi Rach,
Got the 136 visa granted in Sept last year and fly out in June!!!!!!!!!!!
Heading to Sunshine coast but alot will depend on jobs may end up being near or in Brisbane! I had an offer of a phone interview but declined and said I would visit them when I get there if we chose to be nearer Brisbane.
My nursing is specialised in that I have always practiced in neonates since qualifying. Would like to continue really, How about you???

Red face Re:Can anyone help!?!

Hi Rachaey,
Managed to stay up the other night and i telephoned the ANMC because when i origin emailed them someone in their office replied to me saying that the 2323-11 ASCO code was for 'General Nursing' only.
So i then went through the skills assessment process for my Learning disability registration and got a positive assessment from them. However as i said, i stayed up last night and telephoned their office. I explained the situation and the lady said that as far as she could see there would not be a problem about applying for a skills assessment on my paediatric registration and she advised me to apply to the state nursing board first and get registered. Then apply for a modified skills assessment from the ANMC.
So yippee!!! should be able to meet the 120 mark points test for my PR visa.
Hope this helps.
regards,
nirrade.
