Why don't you ask immigration questions on the Australia immigration forum? - more chance of a sensible answer that way.

Bottom line is that you've been told wrong, there's no age limit for a 4 year visa but you don't really want to move to Australia on a temporary visa, do you? (unless you want to have to go home again - this happens to many on temporary visas).

The right solution *might* be the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme, as already pointed out to you. There is an age limit of 45, but it can be waived. You would do yourself a favour if you hired a competent migration agent to check this out in more detail, as it could well be a complex case.

One of the challenges will be how 'enrolled nurse' fits into the Australian skill categories. Not a do-it-yourself job.

If he's a tradesman then he may be able to get a TRA assessment based on hiw training and not formal qualifications - but I have to say you are unlikely to succeed in achieving this without professional assistance (TRA assessments are not easy). Even if he gets a TRA assessment he's got to pass the points test, although there's always the possibility of STNI if electrician is on the skill shortage lists for South Australia, Victoria or Tasmania. You need to check that out.

And finally there is the SIR visa as a possible (probably sponsored by South Australia), if STNI doesn't work out.

On the basis of what you've posted so far, your chances of wading through all these options on your own and getting a successful outcome are not high - you need a top-class migration agent working on your case straight away.

THANKS for the reply we would of course get THE EXPERTS to assist us but the ? is what if he gets a sucessful TRA and passes the points test What would our chances be of getting a PR visa? good or maybe we are now looking at the Go Matilda site we are not too informed on these matters so we will give it our best he really does have a lot of experience but cos of no formal documents so to speak we never thought of him applying as main applicant . Once again thanks (the glass could now be half full as opposed to half empty)
