Default anyone gone on temp visa to an area nursing they arent experienced in?

just wondered, cos id love to go back to theatre work (did a couple of years, aobut 12 years ago) but dont have current theatre experience; would probably be able to get a reference from two of my last theatre jobs to back me up ...

so, wondered if anyone has gone for a post they arent experienced in or dont have recent experience in? how about newly qualified nurses who have gone out straight after qualfiying - have you had problems with learning the new area or are aus employers pretty willing to take you on with no/little experience?
(ive got a varied background - couple of years in itu, couple of years in paed itu, couple of years renal, couple of years surgery, most recent is in medical physics.)

cheers,
sue x

Hi Sue,
I can only comment on 'Charlies' in WA. If you are honest with them and tell them that its been a while, they will be more than happy to take you on with little / no experience if you are newly qualified (onto the grad programme) or well supported in an area that you are 'rusty'.
Wouldnt see that as a problem. Good luck
