Re: AHPRA form finally sent /TImeline will be updated
Hi everyone. I have just received confirmation from AHPRA that my registrations was successful!!! I know I have to email my case worker to extend it for a year before I appear to them but I'm slightly confused by the statutory declaration. Do I just fill out the form for my state online? I don't have to get COGS again after 3 months, or do I? I'm hoping it's just that form.
All you need to do now is email the case officer.

They were all cancelled in March, plus some couldn't accept as my sister was here Visiting.
Applying for jobs everyday but not heard a lot back from any.
There is a big call at the moment for surgical nursing which isn't my areas. Other than that no one is really getting work.
Everyone's perception is that nursing will pick up again June/July and go straight back up to the top of the skills shortage list so jobs will come thick and fast due to the recruitment freeze. Fingers crossed! Because as beautiful as Australia is in I'm bored out of my mind in the day times not working

Hey everyone, received my letter from the NMC today!! Yippee!! I've requested for them to verify my qualifications held on the register. It says that some overseas authorities require evidence of current registration and if I need this I have to ring them! I'm very confused now, nothing actually says certificate of good standing which is what they actually require isn't it? Have I requested the wrong thing? Thanks xx

Well I'm still employed by the agency but haven't done any shifts since Feb.

I'm not sure what you mean about the verification of qualifications unless it's the accreditation?

It's not what they've sent, it's the first letter after requesting it online. The one where you put the addresses and payment information. It's very confusing. Hope it's the right one, I may ring tomorrow just to make sure because it doesn't call it a cogs it's a verification :/ thanks for the replies! Xx

Be aware though, they take the money out of your bank as soon as you click the button online, but can take anything up to 5 weeks to actually send it to AHPRA. It might be worth keeping a timeline of things sent off/paid/requested etc and keep badgering NMC until they can verify they've sent it. It took NMC 3 weeks after taking the money from my bank to actually send it to AHPRA. They are not quick with anything unless it helps them out!

It's possible that I'm being overlooked also as I've not yet got my 189 so I'm hoping that's part of the problem and as soon as that's through I may find something!
But I shouldn't complain to much we have a beautiful dream house and the country is amazing and we have made some incredible life long friends out here, it could be a lot worse xx

Yay, great news! I finally have my registration in principle and have to email to extend presenting in person for a year. Thank you everyone for the posts on here!
Now to apply for my visa and start job searching! A little worried as I have heard there is a job freeze until the summer and I'm specialised in neonatal nursing so very limited!

I decided to join agency because of being paediatric/neonatal only and thought it would be a good way to get my foot in the door, making it easier to go for interviews for full time positions when I finally get there

Yay! That's amazing, well done you! I'm specialised in neonatal as well. I've managed to join healthcare Australia in the mean time to get some shifts with them. I'm paediatric trained so asked the question regarding amount of work available and she said some nurses have been able to work up to 60hour weeks recently!
