World Cup - down to the wire
Cracking result and good performance by England this morning, 4-1 win against Montenegro, tense at times. All means it now goes down to the wire needing to beat Poland on wednesday morning (NZ time).
Anyone else see it? it was good that it was live on Freeview, Sommet sports, and commentary ok, but they don't football coverage do they? skipping any half time highlights for build up for Golf's 2014 Ryder Cup, and no after match highlight's either, mmm.
Clearly the full package including the analysis was a tad more. Not to worry at least got to see the match, as the Beebs radio 5 live commentary was blocked on the internet too.
Might have to take Wednesday morning off work now, anything less than a win against Poland, and it's a two legged play off instead.
That's what NZ will have next month, and you've got to hope they aren't playing Mexico as seems possible, as you'd give them very little hope.
It's been a farce with the recent warm up games, they've just had a 1-1 with Ventura County Fusion - a team at the 4th tier of the US league, and follow up with a games against another US side, Chivas USA before playing Trindad & Tobago.

Best hope Poland haven't got a goalkeeper like Cloughies "clown" this time around.
!97'4', 199'4', ominous sequence that needs breaking

Yep, today's result was no shocker. With Reid out and selecting 3 players playing amateur footy you feared the worse today, and so it proved. That said, there weren't many alternatives, defence and midfield options particularly weak.

At least they put on a better show at home. Suppose my mates who travelled will feel that they didn't totally waste their money.

1998 was the last time we graced a major tournement with our pressence.
And as my adopted home is not there either Im in need of a new team to shout
Costa Rica maybe? Uruguay perhaps? there is of course the mighty Azzurri
But for sure, with no hesitation its A.B.E.
