Women's Football
Hi everyone,
Still considering the move...
Just wondering if anyone knows how popular womens football (soccer) is is NZ?
I play twice a week here in England, usually just 5 a side or a friendly kick about but it's a big part of my life and i'm worried there wont be much interest in NZ? Anyone play womens football or know about it in NZ?
I know it seems like a silly question but playing football makes me happy

Re: Women's Football
A couple of my mates coach women's football teams here in Dunedin. There's plenty of teams and a successful league.
Don't believe the Rugby hype, football is a huge sport here especially at a local level. When you drive around you'll see as many football pitches and football teams playing as Rugby pitches and teams.
There's of social games too, we play in a summer mixed league on a Friday night at the hockey centre.

The girl who emigrated with my daughter plays women's league football in Wellington now, when in Auckland she played hockey as well.
