Hey,

Its my birthday at the end of may, its likely to be a depressing time as it will be cold and i'll be away from friends and family. I'm wondering whether i could afford to go somewhere for a long weekend, hopefully somewhere warmer than Dunedin (so flying somewhere i guess). My mate lives in Canberra so if he could join me that would be fun.

Any ideas? Its a nightmare getting anywhere from Dunedin, seems to often involve overnight stays between flights.

Anyone been any where nice, warm, and cheap in May?

We're doing Sydney direct from Dunedin in January, so looking forward to easy flights. I think they usually have a winter service to at least the Gold Coast or Brisbane.
