Default Where to live?

We are planning on moving to NZ and our jobs will be in Newmarket and Grey Lynn. Can anyone suggest a nice place to live between the both of them. We are looking for somewhere not far from a swimming beach, nice neighbourhood thats not to crowded together but not to isolated.

you would need to live near to your work as traffic is a nightmare going to newmarket , grey lynn, as for beaches they say no matter where you live in auckland your only 15 mins from the beach, hope all goes well.

Most convenient would be Parnell, Ponsonby or Remuera but they're not that close to a beach. Herne Bay might be worth a look. Mission Bay, Orakei, Kohi and St Heliers etc are lovely and by the beach. The commute to work from there might be bearable once you know the back routes!! We live in Mission Bay and OH commutes to Takapuna each day and that's not driving him too potty at the mo!

It's worth noting that Newmarket is on the western train line so one of the suburbs with a train link is probably also worth considering.

Happy hunting!
