An excellent return leg from Christchurch to Blenheim would be to go via Hanmer Springs and Jacks Pass and pass through http://www.doc.govt.nz/templates/Pla....aspx?id=35123 to get to Blenheim!
BTW the road opens on 28th December at the moment subject to weather/ fire risk; this was amended after the rain this week. Up till then, Molesworth Road was closed indefinitely
