Are you sitting comfortably?????
£4500.00 - and yes that is meant to be GBP
Apparently that was the whole shabang, WTR to get in quick then PR paperwork, also secured job and did employers paperwork. Seemed a good idea initially as I am a retail manager so on skills list but not in demand - and how you prove you cannot train someone up is beyond me! Obviously medicals & police checks were extra.

Agencies will put you on their books and send cv's employers who contact them
with jobs that may be suitable for you.
They employer however will also be handed a raft of cv's from kiwi's and people who are already in NZ.
In this current climate employers are not going to be intreasted in candidates who are still overseas
unless you've got something VERY special to offer.
It can be done but i think you'd be better off doing the immigration stuff yourself and keeping employment agencies seperate.
We have friends who did the whole thing in 3 months so if your lucky it can be done
with jobs that may be suitable for you.

Hi all,
Many thanks for all the updates and advice. Well, the consultation was interesting. A total of £3000 to prepare and submit our EOI and Residency applications. No refund if we failed our medicals for any reason. The job search side - £1000 for the initial search and then 8% of annual income paid on first date on employment! Not what we were expecting - needless to say, we have decided to contact a few more people. We have had a chat with Mike from Britsnz and he is looking to help us out. Had a nice time in Chester tho
Cant believe that they can charge that much without any guarantee of actually getting you there. Basically, as long as the EOI was correctly filled out on their part - we would have no refund. If the EOI failed because it hadnt been filled in correctly - we could have a £2000 refund. Not a bad way to make £1000.
Many thanks again for all the help and advise. Still got a long way to go.
Iain

They can't give any guarantee as the decision isn't theirs to make.
