Default Watering the Streets

Have Fulton Hogan always done this in Christchurch? I don't mean the heavily silted areas or that they where being followed by a street sweeper, just casually sprinkling them like you would a lawn.

I'm not a street expert obviously but I don't think watering is going to rehydrate the cracks out of the streets. Is this the best way we can spend taxpayers money in a recession? I suspect the forecast rain will do a good job of watering the streets as well.

Default Re: Watering the Streets

First time I saw it was after the Sept quake. I assumed it was to dampen down the ubiquitous dust post quake. Though I can be spectacularly unobservant at times and they may have been doing it before then.
