I'm addicted to Bhut Jolokia peppers; have them on EVERYTHING I eat!

I love the look on the local Indian restaurant owners face when I ask for a vindaloo and bring my own emergency chilly box with me!

Can't see MAF letting me bring these little fellas in.

I'll just have to find an alternative I suppose.

I dont have any worries about not being able to find foods in NZ except for my beloved Oxo Pasta stock cubes. I even travel from where I live now and buy them in bulk because I cant get them in my town so I'd like to take a stash to NZ with me if I could.

I know I'd need to declare them but has anyone done this or something similar? I'm willing to go cold turkey if I have to but just wondering if it's a total hassle to have declared goods in your luggage or if its not too much of an inconvenience?
We brought Bisto gravy granules through NZ customs for a certain BE family...we declared them on the customs form, went though the red channel without any trouble, in fact we were faster through than the green channel where they were opening everyones suitcases!!
Addictions can be tough

Hi we recently arrived back from the UK and i bought back some cooking mixes by swartz they were pre-packed herbs and spices for casseroles and curries. we declared them and they didn't even want to see them, so im guessing as long as your declare it on your permit card and again at passport control you should be fine, i can't see there being any problem my mum sends them over to me through the post and have never had a problem.
