Mardarse is such a great word and so apt. I couldn't agree more with Barnsleymatt and whilst I am sure it has a lot to do with living conditions, I have never known such a bunch of wimps when it comes to any sign of slightest illness. The fuss that gets made for the most minor ails is beyond belief.

Thanks for the messages everyone. Well we've both bounced back so it seems to be a 3 week lurgy.

Bevs, sorry I didn't know about hubby. Really hope he comes right. You're spot on with the pay thing though. Oh is 1 & half months short of eligibilty for sick pay. Yeah right ..... just keep bringing it on.

Kiwis & health issues. I think you're right about the housing thing but I've noted that bugs,bacteria etc thrive here. I plant anything & it grows at twice the speed it did in the UK, get a scratch & it infects almost immediately.

I agree. My Gran often says "what we need is a good hard frost to kill off all these bugs" and my Gran knows everything
