Which is like saying you made a boat and showing someone some planks of wood cut to varying lengths.
It would be OK but realistically no sane cyclist is going to volunteer themselves to share road with kiwi drivers so actually they might as well have not bothered so far, massive waste. No half measures in a good plan.

cycleway !!! Its just a white line painted down the road.
A year ago they opened up the new section of the wonderful national cycleway from from Cambridge to lake Karapiro,
this involved painting a picture of a bicycle on the pavement every 300 meters or so along the road, still cost thousands
of dollars to do and took a 10 man road crew the best part of a week to do

no shortage round our parts cycleway, iway, rotary pathway you name it we have.... doesn't mean you get to park a car now though.....
