This seems like a reasonable deal...
Hey!
I was searching the net and come across this and thought I would share. It appears that hifx and westpac have got some agreement so that you can set up bank account, credit cards & mortgage (not sure how that would work!) from the UK . There are a few special deals, discounted mortgage rate, no banking charge for 6 months etc. so it might be worth checking out if you are thinking of taking the leap sometime this year

Hi, that sounds pretty good. Also ANZ bank allows you to open up bank accounts here, which we have already done. It appears that they have a bit of an agreement with the Emirates air line, and for migrants going one way they have a deal on baggage allowance. I believe it could be more like 50kgs each, which will be perfect for our family as like most people we will have to live out of suitcases whilst we wait for our belongings to be shipped from the UK.
