I really enjoyed the fireworks down on the Waterfront and lovedthe craziness around Queen Street but disappointing to see many empty seats in Eden Park.
What other sporting event would be kicked off in a below sell out crowd?
It's a good job us Poms are here to fill up some seats.

Why is that that a glass (or 2 ) of bubbly at that time of the morning is fine but a glass of sav blanc seems not quite right?
Bubbly good, first half good. Now for England Argentina (at work for that, so will have to watch repeat).

Bubbly says 'Wowww, time to get up, have a glass of champers and celebrate the start of another fantastic day'
Well that's my take on it anyway

Well, a glass of sav blanc at that time says 'Bloody hell, it's morning, can't face the world without alcohol, in fact anything will do, now where did I leave the rest of the bottle from last night or did I drink it?; not to worry, there's always the turps in the garage if I can't find it. Then I'll have another with breakfast and work my way through five bottles by sunset'

900 seats were left empty because the tickets were paid for by stolen credit cards and were subsequently cancelled. Three men arrested, one deported back to Africa

The transport was absolutely shocking ,we did all the right things took the train. Going in wasn't too bad 1 hour for a 20 min journey. But coming home took 2 1/2 hours and that was after we ditched the train and got a bus (which we had to fight to get on) 9/10 of the way home.
I have never seen a queue for the train as long as that, it was unbelievable, must have snaked for nearly a km out of the station.
I honestly think we would have still be in town if we had waited for the train!

It was a complete sell out (sold out about midday). Could see a small number of empty seats from where we were sitting but that is probably more due to the transport problems than anything.

If you're going to Eden Park again, give me a shout, you can park at my work close to the stadium.
