Default Rock pools

Has anyone else noticed that when at the beach or seaside in NZ, the rock pools are devoid of life. No little fish, no crabs, nothing

Nope! My kids used to love going to the rockpools around Wellington and Pukerua bay - loads of sea life! They used to love moving rocks to find crabs and star fish. Loads of them and jelly fish around Wellington harbour too. Plus rays of course.

Yup. There again where we are is very tidal. We can see the weeny tiny crabs beside the weeny tiny sand humps out on the sands at low tide but you wouldn't walk out on the sinking sand.
Never seen anything much at all in the rock pools hereabouts. Certainly not jellyfish, starfish or crabs of note.

It is 101 degrees here ... I'll take any pool I can get as long as it has water in it.
