Opening an Australian bank account from NZ
Has anyone opened an Australian bank account from NZ...Can it be done? If so how without actually being in Oz

Dunno, but ASB and Westpac and most other banks here are Australian so it shoudn't be too difficult.

Yes I did it using CBA. had the cards and everything ready to pick up on arrival in Australia. There will be something on their website talking you through the process

ANZ do one, you can apply on line and then pick up your cards at a designated branch once you get there, you just have to take the relevant paperwork etc.

I've known a few people who did it through ANZ/National Bank.

ASB is dead easy, especially if you already bank with them. Just call your bank and see what they can do- ASB sorted it all out for us and we just collected cards etc on arrival.
