Fab place - and I hear Khandallah is one of the nicest bits of Welly to live in. Congrats

Looks nice. Did you get a survey on it and did you confirm that it has a Code of Compliance Certificate and all works have been fully permitted?

The last two houses we sold here the kiwis never bothered with surveys, they're a bit more willing to take the risk and so are the banks it seems

Unbelievable. This is all down to Jules - I am far too risk averse to want to buy a house so quickly after landing... however...
Jules saw the house on the net before we arrived and wanted to see it as we had already found a school near by that we got the three eldest kids into. The property had an open house on Sunday so we went along and discovered it was a tender that had to be submitted 4pm today. Jules went to see it again yesterday and decided it was the house for us.
Needs a bit of work, and needs a bit of money spent, so we put in what we thought was a reasonable tender, but quite a bit under the 'guide' price suggested by the realtor. To be honest we weren't holding out much hope... but hoped that our flexibility on settlement date might add some sway.
But we have just received confirmation that we have actually been successful. Can't believe it. Really.... can't believe it.
I know I am going to have to do a bit of DIY over the next couple of years, but am really happy.
In case anyone is interested... THIS IS OUR HOUSE

I agree with the others...doesn't look like it needs much work doing on it at all.
wishing you all the very best of fortune in your new abode!!!
