The problem is that they are crap. It is simple.

If you don't like a good custard tart then don't comment. I don't have a sweet tooth at all but can totally see where Mr BEVS is coming from.

Some people just like to push their luck it seems to me.

The whole point about doughnuts is yes they must be as fresh as can be, next day just ain't no good at all. If Krispy Creme is the benchmark then no wonder one doesn't get it, we're in a different stratosphere. The chance for even a stale old Tescos one would be a fine thing

I'm thinking now of Manchester Tarts* and proper rib sticking, skool dinner style puddings.

Never liked them but they are easy as to make.

Think it must get around to making a custard tart, not made one in years. Made my Christmas cake yesterday, it smells yummy.

Most people I know don't like Christmas Cake, my Mum makes one year on year. Which suits me - I love it. The rest of them are philistines.

Sit down, eat-in pizza places - my favourite Pizza Express, Doughballs and a Peroni or even Pizza Hut with its lovely salad bar would be a real treat.

I wouldn't bother next time you're over, keep the good memories. Over the last few years it's taken a turn for the worse, they serve up cheaper, less quality food at the same price, most of it microwaved or fried.

I'm not sure if it was taken over recently and some clever dick thought they could screw a bit of extra cash out of it?

In fact the one I used to, until very recently, cycle past in Chiswick is no more, some other restaurant has opened in it's place.

I'll bear that in mind in case I ever decide to venture into deepest darkest Chiswick was that the one on the high street? because it's still on their web site and people were reviewing it on Trip Advisor in August http://www.tripadvisor.com.au/Restau...n_England.html

The last one I went to was in Greenwich and very pleasant it was too. But if the quality has deteriorated since then I guess I'll just have to do a stop over in Paris.
