I think it was in the 1920's that a number of Moose were introduced, but I think it has been about 50 years since anyone has seen any.. They should have done very well in Fiordland, but maybe they were over hunted.

I think I've seen them blasting through Kumeu on a Sat night with the antlers strapped to the front of their landing crafts.
