Default New Zealand - UK Electrician working Holiday

Hello i am a UK electrician looking to come to New Zealand on a Working Visa I have heard from people there is an abundance of work due to the earthquake is this true?

Which city has the most amount of construction going on?

Any help what so ever would be very greatful as the whole picking a city is blowing my mind and I dont know where to start.

no need to apologise, just a bit more info would of been good.

best place to look would places like trademe and seek. they will job listings but don't expect salaries to be shown as its not really the done thing here.

also google main contractors in NZ and see what comes up.

advanced search above and put in electrician in NZ forum might bring up some past posts which might have some Company names for you

For electricians it's gonna be Christchurch and Auckland.
Yes there's heaps of work and employers who are crying out for staff.

Deffo keep queenstown on your radar. I'm guessing your a youngish guy and so the lifestyle will deffo fit there. A fair bit of construction going on down there, especially on the sparky side of things according to some mates down there. Think you get an average but liveable wage as a foreigner (accommodation is a bigger concern) until you get certified and then you go up in the world but I'm sure someone else can confirm that bit...
