Hi!

Just wondered if anyone has ever been to one of these expos before?

There is one in London in October and I'm seriously considering it. I spoke to a guy who went to the canadian equivalent and he said they found him a job very quickly...

We went to the one in Olympia London last October. I agree with the other people who have posted on other threads that it is a waste of time and money unless you are in the Health Profession.

The only people who seemed to be recruiting at this expo was the hospitals and opus. If you are in either of these professions my advice would be to go for it but if you are not I would suggest you save your time and money as you can get more information from this site for free and without having to wait in a queue!!!

Sorry but I disagree. I got my job this way and I'm in telecoms!.....but before anyone wastes time ....contact the organisers and ask which employers are definately going. Then either ring them or go on their web sites and see what the openings are and apply by sending a CV and mention you will attend the Expo if required.

I got interviews around the time of the Expo but outside it as their recruiters were 'in town'.....and went to the Expo to 'press the flesh' and have a coffee and chat to them again...worked a treat!

I agree the info regarding banks and pets flights you can get elsewhere.

Thanks for the info, I will give them a call a bit nearer the time and check it out.. I work in engineering so maybe Opus might have something suitable (fingers crossed!)
You are right about the other information, we went to sandown last month and it was (seminars aside) basically a sales pitch for emigration agents etc
