Hi all,
Could anyone tell me which, if any, UK mobile phones work in NZ?. If any do, what network/make of phone is the best. This may be a really stupid thread/question but I am just in the middle of buying presents for xmas.

Im no expert, so i dont know all the GSM network specs but from my experience if it works in the UK... it should work in NZ.... as the handset isnt locked.... (eg orange)..

ive had nokia, sony, and motorola phones over the last 3-4 years, all of which have worked in both countries....

Hi there - hubby brought a Nokia (not sure model) and I brought Samsung E600 with us from UK. both were on o2 in UK - mine needed unlocking, we bought NZ vodafone sim cards ($35) and hey presto no probs. They did both work on their o2 cards initially which was OK for communicating with UK (on roaming rates!!!) but we wanted NZ numbers for job hunting etc etc
