Medical Records
We are emigrating to New Zealand and wanted to know if we need to obtain medical records from the Hospital as well as the doctors.

Are you asking with your visa requirements in mind, or just to aid you once you arrive??
For Visa requirements, I seem to remember that for any hospital stay we needed to bring our discharge notes to the medical, and we didn't need any GPs notes for the medical as the DRs and nurses at the medical did thorough checks and questions on lifestyle and medical history etc.
If it's for when you arrive, we didn't actually bring anything with us - we did get a full "MOT" with our new DRs when we registered, however it probably would have been useful to have brought something with us so that our GP had something a little more substantial in the way of history. Having said this our GP is used very rarely, if we do go to the DRs it is for poorly children and I tend to use the medical centres where you just drop in without an appointment and see a duty DR (where they're not going to know you from Adam).

We will probably just get our medical records from the doctors.
