Default Medical History

We are in the early stages of applying for NZ residency. Our EOI is completed and waiting for the push of a button, as we don't want to be ITA too early because we are intending to visit in April for a fact finding mission, and don't want to have been offered residency before then (ever the optimist me!).Any thoughts on this?

Secondly, I was diagnosed and treated for a malignant melanoma last November. Does anybody have any experience of this, or know if this is likely to pose a problem from a medical point of view which may hamper our immigration proceedings. I know that NZ is considered a high risk for this condition, and as such are they likely to see it as a problem?

My wife had exactly this situation and it was spotted at the medical and noted on the doctors report, we made no attempt to disguise or hide the fact and it was simply not an issue with the emmigration people. The worst case is that the emmigration dept will ask you to get a report from a specialist which details what you had and the treatment given, thats it. In our case this was not required.

Hope this helps

Thank you so much for this response, it has been worrying me that this may be a problem, and you have reassured me no end. Thanks again.
