Well our stuff has finally gone - Not quite to plan but its gone!! Moving guys (Pickford) turned up on the dot at 9:00 AM on Thursday 19th and got stuck into the packing and had most of it done by mid afternoon. They returned at 9:00 AM on 20th to diligently finish the packing, including all my tools. Container was scheduled to arrive at 12:00 PM, that came and went! Then it was 1:00 PM, which again came and went! Same for 2:00 PM and eventually at 3:20 PM the long awaited container arrived outside our house - Yippee!! The driver done his bit to secure things, then opened the container so we could load our worldly goods. Then BANG - billingsgate Fish market hits us in the nose!!!! The container was stinking to high heaven of fish!!! The driver said it was the chemicals used to fumigate the container - Yeah right!! Waited 10 minutes with the doors open to see if the smell would dissipate but no it remained!! So that was that - No way were we putting our belongings into that smelly thing. Instead, our things were loaded onto Pickford removal lorry and taken to their depot in Cardiff and will be transferred to an appropriate smelling container today (Monday 23rd) - IT HAD TO HAPPEN TO US - LOL!!!

You will look back and laugh, as long as the new container smelled fresh! Good luck with the move

HeHe. Stressful time I know but you're getting karma for making me giggle.
It's in my head now as The Billingsgate Incident.

Made me laugh too. Reminds me of the fights we have in our Gaulish village over the 'freshness' of fish

If you believe the adverts on television in UK Febreze would have sorted it!
