Looters
Remember those generators that where stolen?
Such upstanding citizens, lucky they are inside of they would probably be tarred and feathered by locals.
Two men who allegedly stole emergency generators from quake-striken Christchurch have appeared in court. Owen Anthony Jackson, 23, and Jed Wilson-Calver, 22, were arrested last night.
...the two men lifted their middle fingers to the courtroom as they were led back to the cells.

Re: Looters
I was surprised to read news about looting in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake. I wouldn't have thought that happening in NZ, not because I would think that the NZers are somehow more honest than others but Christchurch is not exactly a big city and everyone more or less knows each other over there, therefore carrying out such shameful acts would attach you with a stigma forever if you are a local.

Someone (can't remember who) on TV sugested that if you are approched by someone claiming to be "official" you ask to see ID and ask if its ok to take a photograph of them.
What a great idea

One hopes that their real fate awaits them. One imagines they are in some fear for their welfare. Jolly good. They will have real, appropriate justice dispensed when no one is looking..I hope.
