Default Just arrived in Warkworth

Hi

My name is Karen and I have been in NZ about 10 days , I am living in Warkworth and I wondered if there is anyone out there living near to me . My husband is working and I am finding it a little lonely being on my own in an empty house most days . The container arrives on Friday but it wont be delivered here until March 4th so we have little or no furniture at the moment , the house feels very empty . I am enjoying NZ and have coped much better than I imagined I would , it is a very beautiful country . I am sure that when we have found a car ( hopefully Saturday ) and I can explore for myself things will improve little by little.
Hoping to hear from someone
Thanks Karen

Hi Karen

I'm in Waipu - so not TOO far away

We absolutely love it here - the beaches are fantastic and the climate is lovely.

Drop me a pm if you ever explore this far up

Hang in there!! My wife and I dream of coming to NZ - my greatest fear is that it will be me in work and my wife will obviously initially at least be in your position. Worried that it might go pear shaped!!!

I'm sure you'll make new firends soon and will have loads to do when container arrives.

What does your husband do? Are you looking for work? Do you have family etc? Also - wher on the planet is Warkworth?!!!

I'm sure it will be tough at times - hang on to that dream - many people would gladly swap!!!

Hi
Thanks for the words of encouragement I appreciate it , I don`t feel too down hearted yet as I know things will get better , it just takes time . My husband works for Downer connect installing for Telecom , he worked for BT in Uk , he loves the job and has settled in well , he has been here for 4 months .
Warkworth is about an hour and 15 mins from Auckland , it is more of a village really but it is very pretty. I do intend to work but I will have to wait until my residency is through to start looking , I am only on a visitors visa at the moment
Thanks again for the replies
Karen

I know what you mean. We went there on the way back from Goat Island a few weeks ago. (Both places - cool ).
