when you have a job offer does anyone know what the time limit is then ? also what is the time limit for a residency visa? please

If the job offer is temporary the time you have to take up employment will be stated on the visa/permit. If you are accepted for permanent residency you will be allowed to stay in New Zealand indefinitely.

Further to above, if you are issued a resident visa it will state on the visa when you have to arrive. Once you have arrived you will be given a resident permit allowing you to stay in New Zealand indefinitely. This is for your first resident's visa. After a two year period you can apply for an indefinite returning resident visa. How that works I will have to find out as we are about six months shy of getting that visa.
