IRD Numbers for Children & Wife
Hi,
I'm looking into getting IRD numbers for my two chilodren (both 16) and my wife. According to the form you need to provide 1 category A document and 1 catagory B document. The category A document is not a problem, but for the category B document, the choice is:
•• New Zealand driver licence
•• New Zealand 18+ card
•• New Zealand student photo identification card
•• A letter confirming registration as a student in New Zealand**
•• An “offer of employment” letter from your employer, on their company letterhead**
•• International Drivers’ Permit (issued by a member country of the UN Convention on Road Traffic)
•• Overseas Drivers’ Licence (accompanied by an English translation completed by an LTNZ authorised translator, if not
already in English)
Neither my kids or wife have either of these. I suppose that my kids will eventually have a student photo card, but we are arriving in October and they probabably won't enrol for school until 2009, which may be a problem as they will want a part-time job asap.
Anyone else in the same situation?
Cheers
D.

Hi Donny,
Shouldn't be a problem, just wander in to the nearest IRD office to where you will be when you arrive with the birth certificates, bank statement, passports etc.
Don't think you can do it before you get here?
Loolah

Thanks all. I'll wait until we arrive then.
