Default information brochures

Hi,
Just wondered if there are any free brochures and info you can send of for.I don't mind trawling on the net but the wife hates it.So hoping we can sit down with some books etc and spend the weekend reading. Also easier to convince the kids.

Thanks Dean

best place to get bumph is at the Expos - Earls Court or Manchester. A one stop shop for all the stuff you need on employers, containers, areas, agencies, specialists, NZIS, etc, etc Plus some Kiwi sweets and more pens and shopping bags (pink for us gents!) than you will ever need.
Several employers, groups of employers and development agencies have websites and will send bumph but I'd wager you'll get a far better response from the stalls at the Expos.

We went to London expo in 2004 & Manchester 2006. London one was better because there are far more exhibitors. The company my OH works for (GHD) is going to be at London only. You get loads of info. Take bottled water with you as they get very crowded & hot!

I second that and get a babysitter as the kids are not an asset!! Although I got more out of the Manchester one - albeit that it was our first and much earlier in the process.......good luck

Try here.

I know it's the net but got absolutely loads of info.

Also look out in WHSmiths for Australia & New Zealand magazine and loads of books available on Amazon.

If you want to purchase some useful books to read whilst in the UK I'm sure we can all add ideas to a WHSmithathon? For leaflets, it's a bit tricky, as no-one will send you a little leaflet from NZ I guess? Do you want some book ideas?

You can pick up a copy of Emigrate NZ monthly newspaper from NZ House in London for free, or subscribe on 01323 726040.

Hi Deannos

You ight want to read "A New Life in New Zealand" written bu Paul Goddard. Him and his family were on the BBC Get A New Life series a few years ago.

Take it with a bot of a pinch of salt though and don't let it put you off totally because Tauranga is nothing like as bad as he makes it sound ... as I, Am Loolah and the other BEs here will testify ... it's actually a lovely place to live!
He actually preferred Hamilton to Tauranga though I can never understand why!
The ISBN for the book is 1-84528-001-6

Hope that helps

Paul

I have:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zealand-Work...352568-4926014 - this is a general guide to the history, culture, regions, jobs and money, and

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emigrating-N...352568-4926014 - this is more like a practical checklist of things you need to think about as you prepare to go.
