How to change NZ?

Re: How to change NZ?
[Campbells - seem as how you are contributing to a thread I started, it seems a bit churlish of me to have you on ignore - so you're not now ]
Now, addressing your last post, I'm just surprised that any English immigrant to NZ, Australia or other countries is not aware of the stereotype.
I then inferred that some kiwis genuinely hold that view, and if Nerine had not been told it to her face then (a bit jokingly) I suggested that they must have been holding their tongues. Of course there could be many reasons Nerine has not experienced such a comment.
More seriously, if the answer to our problems is changing the kiwi psych, then we indeed have a long road ahead.

If it was a decision for me only I would be out of here in a flash.
This is not the first time I have immigrated and I have worked for several companies in other countries as well as large international companies.
I have referred to “attitude” in past disagreements with you now you have called it “kiwi psyche”
That is an area that I personally can not get to grips with
Inconsistency
Which I discovered very early on with my first Kiwi boss and see it regularly.
For example the many threads / discussions on here about the hoons polluting the peace with noisy cars and thudding music.
The same plonkers will put ear protectors on to cut their grass.
If that is indeed a glimpse of Kiwi Psyche then I raise the white flag
I chose to see no solution but to say in the future I will not remain here.

So the ideas so far are:
- political union with Australia
- lobbying the politicians
- flooding NZ with Australians
- waving the white flag and finding a new country
- flooding NZ with more immigrants (like us) so we can do it by numbers

Re: How to change NZ?
Another related one I will confess I did feel like complaining about in writing (but actually didn't put pen to paper - no one ever does - that's the problem) was unsealed roads in tourist areas - the only downside of my lovely North island holiday tour. Several of the major attractions at Coromandel Town are on an unsealed road....I had UK visitors last week who had to help out a stranded kiwi bloke who had landed in the ditch late at night on that very same road.
Lobbying does work indirectly sometimes:
Last time I visited Venice I was infuriated by the pigeons in St Marks Square disgusting and unhygienic..yuck....so upon return I sent an email to the local town council equivalent...I got a 'we will look into it' reply and heard nothing more.
A few months ago I read that Venice is banning the pigeon-feeding (all those years of history).....now I am not trying to take the credit...but seriously I was pleasantly flabbergasted. I have yet to return to see if it has actually been enforced.

I'm in favour of flooding the country with Mexicans. There happens to be a severe shortage of proper corn tortillas in this country.

Or vast quanities of well spoken, old school tie wearing, ex English Public School boys?
Double the benefit!
It would dismantle both the Kiwi accent and class system in one fell swoop

It would happen in schools but I'd leave the finer points to the speech specialists.
TBH, I don't know what I would change. The road rules, yes, definitely.
I think my biggest concern was the overt racism that I witnessed, which was people making racist comments quite glibly. I know it's hardly cross-burning but I feel that it's the thin edge of the wedge. That would be a job for education, open discussion and media campaigning.
