Actually does anyone know what the wood is ( we have it on the floor of my mum and dads house) when its natural it looks a bit pink/rose - we've been told it's rimu but also matai! It's very pretty.
Our floors are Rimu so maybe the house walls are too - they're a similar colour. It would have looked ace just varnished on the outside if we hadn't drilled about 500 holes in it for the insulation!

Do you know how they stripped it back? It looks really good.
I'm asking because I'm doing this at the moment and it's taking me ages. I'm using a heat gun and a huge powerful random orbital sander that scares the kids. But it still takes ages and doesn't look as good as yours.

How's it done professionally?

They used a heat gun - gas powered from an LPG cylinder then scrapers, belt sanders and orbital sanders.
They had five or six guys on it all week so a lot of man hours.

I find stripping very theraputic ..........

I stripped a whole house's woodwork about 20 yrs ago now with a heat gun and a scraper.
It looked fab!!!
I probably have lead poisoning now but who cares we made a huge profit on that house

Getting there - it needs another coat of the blue and the white at the bottom is really patchy at the moment. There's loads of finishing off still to do. We think it looks ace
