Nope, the air they expell is slightly warmed .... overnight its a nice ambient low level warmth that envelopes the room. Which is nice.

Did anyone see Dirty Jobs on Discovery tonight?
Cold timber house on wooden piles. They re-installed underfloor insulation, but the important thing was a plastic membrane laid on the bare soil.
Now, all the re-located houses I have seen put in around here on piles do not have this, they are just sitting over bare soil.
Interestingly, our coldest room (an extension) is on piles & insulated, but over bare soil. The rest of ours is over a large concrete cellar & is insulated, no problem.
Maybe something to look into?
Our rental in Auckland sat over bare soil & that was freezing.

I am finding this interesting as our house is part on concrete slab and part on wood pile.

The coldest room in our house is the downstairs back bedroom which is on the concrete slab but this may well be because of the way the sun angles over the house.

I have no idea if the concrete slab was insulated but I doubt it (polystyrene is used to insulate a concrete slab) but we do have insulation under our wood piled timber flooring. Not the best there is to be had but it certainly does a reasonable job. Below this is bare earth but we don't sit directly above this as the house is somewhat off the ground due to the slope.

We put underfloor insulation in last month and more by luck than anything also got the polythene ground cover too. We think the insulation/groundsheet is making a difference.
