Hi everyone
Hi
My name is Tonia i am a newly qualified midwife and i have been married 9 years (ouch!!) to an accountant (more of a finance manager). We have 2 boys aged 7 and 8 and have started the visa application through an agency.
We are keen to live on the North Island around Tauranga area but need to go where the jobs take us. We have lots to consider such as a place to live that the boys would enjoy growing up in, GOOD SCHOOLS and what the job situation is like for finance managers/CIMA qualified accountants.
We really want a change of lifestyle and that is why we are keen on coastal areas as opposed to more inland areas.
I hope to hear off you soon as I am desperate for advice and tips

Re: Hi everyone
Hi Tonia,
I would have thought as a midwife the world would be your oyster for choice as to where to get a job... I would also expect Tauranga to have plenty of opportunity for the both of you to gain employment. All the best with your application and job searching... but do consider Wellington... it's greatdown here!

HI Tonia and welcome to BE!
I'm afriad I wouldn't know with regards to your husband's job opportunities, but suggest you have a look on www.seek.co.nz and www.trademe.co.nz
You might want to have a look at http://www.bopdhb.govt.nz/ with regards to the Bay of Plenty.
We have lived in Papamoa, Tauranga for nearly 2 years and my two youngest are 6 and 10. They attend Tahatai Coast School in Papamoa which we have been very pleased with.
Check out the Wiki here http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Tauranga_City_Guide for some more tips and links.
