Hello!
Hello One and All!
I am in the process of getting everything together for my move across to New Zealand. My Sister went over in March this year and I can't wait to join her over there to start my new life!!
I have 2 kitties that I am taking with me, so any advice on good companies to transport them with would be much appreciated. I have had quotes fro Pet Exports so far and they seem quite reasonable at around £800.
I will be living in Auckland in Torbay if all goes according to plan.
Currently i work in IT as a product Specialist - if anyone has any advice on the type of position/ salary I could be looking at getting in the city it would be much appreciated as this is the one area I have not made much progression in as of yet!
Anyway look forward to hearing from anyone who feels they can help oif just wants to say Hi!!
Thanks!
Harriet

Re: Hello!
Hi Kirstie,
Thanks for the information, I will give the Ladyhaye people a call for a quote. It sounds like you are very organised to be on your way, do you have a date planned for departure? I am trying to get the house sold at the moment and will be heading out to NZ on a working holiday visa to start with in December. I can't wait to finally get out there and see my sister again!
Good Luck with you move anyway,
Harriet

Re: Hello!
Kia Ora and welcome to this NZ forum.
We also came out with 2 cats. We used Airpets up near Heathrow and they talked us through every step of the process. Our cats thought it was a breeze and all a tad boring. It was us that was stressing over them.
We've been in New Zealand for three years now and live near Nelson on the South Island.
It'll soon be December Harriet and you'll be here for a wonderful summer Christmas with your sister.

Re: Hello!
Thanks for your message - we are travelling down on the South Island for a holiday when I first get over, and are interested in passing through the Nelson area.
Any highlights you can recommend us seeing?

Re: Hello!
hi harriet
we would like to go over in the spring, and we are going to put the house up for sale in the late autumn, our ITA has just arrived so we are going to start going through all of that next week and get the medicals booked etc. I am trying to be organised, however husband is not so it is me that is doing all the paperwork.
Like Bevs has said December will be here before you know it,
Good luck with your application

We are in Torbay - have been here for nearly 4 weeks and are really enjoying it (although to be fair there have been lots of ups and downs - still very early days ).
I brought my cat over and used Airpets at Heathrow. They were very good, always willing to answer any questions I had. Dylan (the cat!!) is at least 14 and I was a wreck about bringing her over, but she was absolutely fine and is now settling into her new home. It cost me £941.00 to get her here, which included the faecal tests etc, which seems like an awful lot - but I'd definitely use Airpets again.
Good luck with everything - give me a yell when you get here
