Hard to believe it was two years ago today...
...that we were woken up at 4.35am by the 7.1 quake.
It really doesn't feel that long ago and I know I never imagined what would follow on from that over the next 24 months
Onwards and upwards though. We've had a quiet few weeks on the quake front, the cordon is getting smaller and the demolition seems to be speeding up

It seems to have flown by. We're OK and our house got fixed but my heart goes out to the people still living in areas that are destroyed and arguing with their insurers. Where I work is still affected too with closed buildings and endless discussions with insurers......
I do think it's fair to say that our and everyone's lives did indeed change forever that day.... and not in the best way
There was a complaint read out on NAtional news this morning about an article yesterday saying how Christchurch was full of energy and resilient people: the writer asked where all this energy and these people were and sadly I have to agree.
Although some of my staff have lost homes and even loved ones yet smile and look ahead to a future here. As do I, I guess, but we all know in our hearts it's going to be a long time before the City heals itself.

In some ways it seems like only yesterday that I started reading posts from yourselves, and other members in Christchurch. I suppose that's a sign how quick time seems to flash by (either that or a sign I am getting old and time is just flashing by for me )
How are things there now generally for you all?
