Just read on the BBC website that, "Auckland, with a population of around 1.2 million the first major city in the world to celebrate the New Year."

Partner and I were at Aotea Square last night and watched the fireworks come out of the Sky Tower at midnight sharp.

Last year we were on a beach infront of our house in Papamoa. This year we were in Edinburgh watching the fireworks go off behind Edinburgh Castle. Both places were special and who knows what next years experience will be, we are thinking of New York.

Hope 2006 makes all your dreams come true.

I was here in NZ for the millenium, and last few New Years since have been in Waikato, Wellington, Queenstown. Next year, its going to be Australia. Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide...not sure which yet.
Hope everyone has a great 2006.
