Its not even a big house, but its nice enough with decks front and back. Its lovely with stunning views but Id want to be just a bit higher up from sea level IYKWIM. Apparently the owners are going to knock it all down and build their dream house on there. Its a pity the weather wasnt better so my littlun could go play on the beach. Typical that today the weather is just beautiful.

My uncle owns some boat somewhere but to be honest I am not a swimmer and I spent a week on a yaught a few years ago and I was so unimpressed it was untrue. I like the rush of the speed boat so maybe I have just missed a part of it along the way?

Its a wee speedy boat we have ( but out on friends RHIB today) you couldnt sleep on it or anything - its just for zipping about and having a laugh and fish and dive off - its perfect for that. Ever get up here we'll take you out on it - we have lifejackets :D

What is the alien mother-ship? It's a rather unique house in Christchurch. Definitely not a typical Kiwi bungalow.

Hee hee - there were actually loads of people around - it's just that it's a very big beach. That's the Tasman sea, much wilder than on the other side where we live. My hubby decided there and then he wanted to live out there :D It's really lovely.

Fantastic pics everyone! Pixie, those cray fish look delicious, I'm sitting here at work drooling!! STILL haven't had one! Saw something called 'bugs' on a seafood menu on our Christmas hols but wasn't sure what it was so didn't order it. Didn't know if it was thier nickname for crayfish? My hubby things they look like insects, so maybe.

Anyway, I'm putting a pic of my kiwi on this great NZ pic thread hope that's ok! Taken at the park yesterday, it was her 2nd birthday and the highlight for her was definatley playing on the swings!

oww thanks Maz :D

How are you today?

Aaah cricket! There's something I miss a lot. *goes into happy memory mode* I revised for my 2nd year exams at uni infront of the cricket at Northants County Cricket Ground. I'd take a salad with me, a hipflask of rum (and I bought cokes at the bar :D ), my sunglasses and sat underneath the radio commentary box on the patio there. Occasionally I'd forget my revision. :D I got the highest marks of my entire degree. :D

Anyway *out of wistful mode now* thanks for asking, I'm very well now. Especially this evening as my mother-in-law left to stay with her daughter today. MIL has been staying with us as her new house gets built, since the end of November. And it does seem like 6 weeks too long. LOL! :D

Hi Batty,

Lovely pics. :) The activity is called land yachting, so I think they are land yachts. Pretty cool. I tried it out many years ago, although to be honest, it wasn't really windy enough that day.

Here's another couple.

We go to Waikaraka Park speedway most Saturday nights. Last night Steve Williams, Tiger Wood's Caddy was racing but had to retire with car trouble. He's 1NZ (won the Nationals last year) for Saloon cars. Anyway, these are Modifieds - V8s and soooo fast! Before anyone asks - the umbrella on the right was to protect the lady from the dust

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b2...eJ/Jan7005.jpg

And this was in Helensville today (West Auckland) I've put another pic on the 'simple pleasures' thread - when they got out of the water :)
