Re your daughter. It's a hard age they discover all these emotions and can pull your heart strings. My 3 yr old has started questioning me about nana and why we can't go to her house. They don't understand the concept of distance.
I'm sure both our daughters will thank us for the choice we made when they are older x

Now she's done the journey, I think she realises just how far it is. She certainly understands that you can't just drive there!!

On the basis of "what you know", in all likelihood we'll be sweet - but you do wonder ...

It's a good insight to have TL. Don't lose sight of it.

It kinda surprises me when adults are surprised given they were also kids once. I have memories from when I was 3 & 4. My thoughts & my feelings & emotions over certain things.

It will be fine though TL. It is that well worn saying that we apply to many moments in our lives . Time heals & any sense of loss is softened.

She will grow up accepting the distance . However, she may also grow up to simply prefer one set of relations over another and that doesn't necessarily mean about little seen and so spoiling the child. It can just be about feeling that connection.
