Default Getting a mortgage, while on a 3 year visa....

....anyone done it?

I am told you can only borrow up to 60%.

We have not made any money on our property here in France. (bought at the wrong time).

Think it is going to be hard to get on the property ladder in NZ, may have to rent for 3 years which is a bummer.

Yep we did.

Got a $280000.00 with $70000 put down as deposit.
Done this with Westpac and had no problem. Moved into our house 6 weeks after landing and 4 weeks from offer.

Nope, here on 3 year temp working visas as hubby is a truck driver.
Hopefully having my skills assessed next year and then PR for 2011/2012 with a bit of luck.
