Fright of my life from a tree trunk
that wasn't a tree trunk.
walking along the beach this morning with Bertrand (dog) and nearly walked straight onto a seal, not a washed up dead one as usual but a full blown lumbering around seal. was on the beach watching it at first but had to get up onto the path as it started lumbering towards us, heart was racing I can tell you. awesome

Coo, nice one. Saw one swimming in the Whanganui River a few months ago. It's gotta be better than the dead whale from back in January !

unfortunately have seen 3 dead seals along the beach

have done on all three occasions. nothing much happens. baby one after a week or so some of the locals buried it under rocks as the smell was getting a bit much
