Me again, just looked at an amazing rental house in Kahu Road, Paremata. Is anyone on here from that area, what is it like, what is the school like? What's the commute into Welly CBD like, OH is thinking of getting the train daily.

What about things for kids to do in the area, the boys are 7 & 10
Nearest beach, where can we kayak?

Paremata is fabulous, I've lived in the next suburb at Papakowhai for 7 years. I have friends of friends who's kids go to Paremata & Papakowhai School. All the kids seem to love the schools, apparently they are both very good Primary Schools, in good areas. Paremata has a park n ride for train station with a 20 mins ride to town, or a 20 mins drive to town. You would be minutes from the beach, lagoon / park & shoppping malls.
Kahu Road is on a hill, so you may get amazing sea views

Also..... Pauahatanui Inlet is minutes away, where you can kayak very safely. Or Plimmerton has a large beach & further along a rocky area where you can sometime see stingrays

The commute is a breeze from Paremata, I do it daily. Door to door from Whitby using Bus and Train takes an hour into the CBD with a gentle stroll up to Willis St.
