Have been quoted $225 to have a full body check..ouch

I believe the nz health system spends something like $30 million a year on skin cancer so there must be something in place to provide a free mole check?

I can't seem to find it though?

I think there are two 'companies' doing mole checks. Molecheck and molemap. Molecheck looks at the moles pinpointed by your GP as possible melanoma, whereas Molemap does your whole body and you have it done again 6 months later and see if there are any changes. I'm not sure if there are any free ones. Mind you, it's been four months since I lived in NZ so other companies may have sprung up. I actually used to 'work' for Molecheck so I have a bias.

It may be cheaper to visit your GP and ask if he thinks any moles are of concern and have those checked by Molecheck.

I'm off to uk for hols soon and I'm told its free on the nhs so I'll have it then I guess.

Seems crazy they don't have a free service here though through your GP. But hey, This Is New Zealand.
