Default Evisa

I have permanent residency and was told to apply by email to get an Evisa. I have done all the forms and photocopies of passport, birth certificate etc
Has anyone else been in a similar position - the UK receiving centres are closed and you had to apply by email and they sent you an Evisa?

Thanks

I am an NZ resident. I got my NZ evisa for permanent returning in NZ via email when I got my new UK passport......BUT I had to send all the documents by post to Auckland, I got the NZ evisa about three weeks later by email. I had to print the thing off and was told in the email to keep this print out with my passport at all times when I use my passport at any border into NZ.

Have had my evisa for a couple of years. The first time I used it i was stopped from checking in for my return flight to NZ as it did not register, therefore I would have needed an exit ticket to show when I would be leaving NZ. I feel to have to carry around a second document as genesis has described defeats the object. I will be adding the traditional blue sticker to my passport soon.
