The military is always in the Republican corner. My dad voted Republican while he was still in.

My dad is voted Dem today as well. I think when they get out they realise that it's not about funding projects or making sure funds are there to provide enough slots for promotion opportunities.

Really bizarre feeling.. I'm sitting here watching the day/evening unfold and feeling really quite 'emotional' .. not in the crying sort of way.. more just in a 'wow, this is so historic, great to be here' kind of way...
It wasn't something that i had expected to feel.. its not my country..but I find myself genuinely interested in what is going to happen... I'm touched by what the voters are saying and the reasons why this is the first time they have ever voted.. Watching the crowds in Time Square and in Chicago is really quite something..
Now, you have to understand.. I actually have NO clue whatsoever what is going on.. they can show every type of graph, prediction slideshow etc.. Its all lost on me!!!
I think.. wait.. no, I think I may actually be beginning to feel a connection with this country.. (or it could just be indigestion)

Well said! There is something inspiring about this process! It sure costs a lot, but - here's a guy from a mixed-race, broken home, father from a 3rd world country, grandmother a recipient of food-stamps for a while, and who has admitted to experimenting with drugs. That's pretty cool!
